About Glow Specialist

Glow Specialist has been the leading supplier of glowsticks, UV & blacklight products since 2005. What started as a hobby by founder Yvo Kortekaas has grown into a professional family business with a warehouse, showroom and a complete range of light‑up products for parties, events, safety and sports.

A family business with a passion for light

After the early years, Yvo’s father Nico joined the company, followed shortly by Jorga (Yvo’s wife), who became co‑owner. Over the years our stock, product range and team have grown significantly. We are proud to be a true family business — everyone who works with us is family or feels like family.

From a home office to a professional company

• 2005: Started from home
• 2009: Moved to a business location in Poeldijk
• 2014: Relocated to The Hague with a showroom, warehouse and workshop space
• 2020: Moved to our current location in Ommen (Overijssel)
• 2025: Celebrated our 20‑year anniversary

Our building in Ommen houses our warehouse, office, pickup counter and showroom. Customers are welcome to visit for advice, demonstrations or to collect orders.

Our mission

We aim to provide high‑quality glow products that bring fun, visibility and safety to every occasion. Whether you need glowsticks for an event, UV lighting for a show, or glow‑in‑the‑dark items for sports or education — we offer reliable products and expert advice.

Opening hours

Our showroom, office and pickup counter are open from Monday to Friday, 9:30–17:30. During these hours we process orders, answer calls and respond to emails.

Showroom

Would you like to see our products in person or receive tailored advice? Our showroom is open on weekdays from 9:30 to 17:30. If you wish to place an order during your visit, we will prepare it for pickup as quickly as possible. For extensive advice, we recommend calling ahead to schedule an appointment.

Order pickup

If you need products quickly, you can place your order online and select “pickup” during checkout. Your order will be prepared and ready at our pickup counter. Rental products can also be collected during opening hours.
